Kavanaugh is confirmed as a new US Supreme Court Justice. Using the 2pm chart for the US favored by William Stickevers (not the Sibley time on the same day), Saturn rules the Fourth House (representing the opposition to the party in power in mundane astrology). The US Saturn is at 14 Libra. Today, the Sun is conjunct Ceres (removal/loss) at 13 Libra. In other words, a loss suffered by the opposition to the party in power. Saturn also traditionally rules the Democratic Party, for reasons I don't recall. But Ceres is also square the US Sun at 13 Cancer, ruler of the MC (representing the party in power). So while the symbology is more obvious for the opposition/Democrat side losing, it's not 100% clear from the transits that the Republicans were going to win today.
